Stuck CAPS

I was looking into retrofitting projectors into the 03-05 housings and blacking out the bezels, but then thought about this: Has anyone retrofitted projectors into the hi-beams of the 06-09 housings? And even better: That WITH black housings? If anyone has, post up pics of the headlights as well as light output from the projectors. Thanks in advance!

Ebay has the '06-'09 headlights with the needed grill and adapter parts for ~300 I believe. Should be an easy swap.

You could do a quad retrofit. gshadow325 did it on 03-05 housings. The grille surround pieces can be had on rock auto for 2 dollars for the 03-05. I dont see it listed for an 06 though.

you are better off buying a cheap set of knockoff projectors from trs for $45 a pair adn then some shrouds and retrofit them into your 03-05 headlamps and get better performance than stock 06+ lamps

Or you could buy the direct swap TRS projectors and call it a day. open headlight remove old projector put new one in black out bezel if thats you liking and then add another set of projectors for the high beams. Wouldnt need them tho since the TRS have the high beam solenoid already. 4 pairs of projectors it just to much IMO

Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. How's the light output on the hi's compared to stock?

No comparison. Retrofit is the way to go.

Direct swap, you must be talking about the 06+ they have. 03-05 there is nothing direct about them.

Agreed 4 projectors are too much. I was too far into mine to stop what I started, but I am really satisfied with the results.

gshadow is correct i stand correct thought i saw you had a 06 my bad i guess you will have to do the hard labor after all

But to answer the minis have a good sharp cut off and flicker nicely the best not but then again i don't care how sharp the cut off it as long as its better light output then the halogen bulbs. IMO HID projectors should be standard on EVERY CAR from facotry

Stuck CAPS if I were you, I would keep it simple and cheap, get some MH1's and put them in your stock 03-05 housing, get some high beam splitters and keep your halogen highs. Can be done for <100 bucks with ebay projectors or TRS B stock and in an afternoon. The MH1 is really easy, simple and gives you great output for the money.

Seeing as I'm currently saving for, and planning out a 4WD conversion, do I seem like I like things easy OR cheap? :jump:
