Headliner for top

I've got a few tears in my top's headliner and I was wondering if anyone has replaced theirs with an aftermarket headliner or even with nothing at all? I don't really like the look of the headliner that it came with.

I've replaced the headliner on a number of vehicles.
You can get actual headliner material or something else at a fabric store.

I’m guessing you have a 1st Gen? (It would be way better if 1st and 2nd Gen each had their own sub forum!). If so, replacing the headliner should be much simpler as you can remove the top and turn it upside down so you don’t have to fight gravity all the way through the job.

I used Diamond-Plate Pattern Anti-Fatigue Mat

From "Top's", I assume you have a first-gen...

Below should address above :)

A few years ago, I used Diamond-Plate Pattern Anti-Fatigue Mat that I bought from Sears. big Lots also carried it back then.
Fits the utilitarian, simple, minimal, low-maintenance style of the first-gen.
Although used spray adhesive, I could have gotten away without because the material is stiff enough.

You're waay to new to know, but there were 2 separate sub-forums many years ago, but after time they were combined because of too little traffic to justify both.

I figured that was the situation. Not like it costs extra money for the extra sub, does it?

I’ve been a ‘Mud and ExPo guy for more than 10 years each, but my last (96) Runner led me here through google searches often enough that I joined up. At heart I’m a Land Cruiser guy, but I wanted a convertible and it was the 1st Gen I bought or a Heep as FJ40s are $8,000+ for total pieces of crap.
