Headrest Problem

I have 2006 Sport and the headrest on the driver's side is responding as if to some invisible snakecharmer. I shove it all the way down and within 24 hours it rides up about 4 inches. I've tried spreading the rods and will try switching headrests with the passenger side but just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. Perhaps it's some new safety feature.

I'm going to take a wild guess that there are no holes in the backrest cushion for the headrest rods to go into, thus when the headrest is inserted and put in the lowest position the backrest cushion compresses where the headrest rods are. When the cushion expands again it forces the headrest up. That's my theory.
