Heat I need heat!

It was in the low 20s this morning and after my hour drive to work I had more ice on the windshield than I started with. The temp gauge was reading normal, the air coming from the vents was warm probably not as warm as it should be but warm. My biggest problem seems to be that I am not getting any airflow. The defroster, heater or dash. Fresh air or recirculate is about the same. Fan runs on all speeds, no debris on the cowl intake and the lever seems to run the air box correctly directing to indicated outlets. Anyone have this problem? I will order a new tstat front my dealer today. But the airflow is a big part of the issue.

When you adjust the airflow to defrost and back to the front vents is there a change in flow?

Could be the temp control valve on the firewall is stuck too.

Yes air flow changes to the indicated outlets when changed.
The temp lever does move the valve too.

In my truck the air doesn't blow very hard but its hot as hell. Ill start to sweat granted the coldest its been here in Florida was like 40 in the morning.

I was thinking maybe some leaves might be clogging the baffles/ducts.

Your heater core could be clogged, stopping hot coolant from flowing through it.

As for the mention, of it not blowing strong.. could be a resistor issue Blower Repairs

Its been in the teens here for the past couple weeks in the AM... now were just waiting for the snow!

With the heat on full, check to see if the heater core hoses are warm(carefully) when the truck is up to temp. You might have a t-stat that is stuck open which not allowing the coolant to get hot enough. If the rad hoses are hot, and the heater core hoses are not, then the valve is probably shot. I would try the above mentioned, then get more detailed. Hope this helps.

The heater core could be clogged 2 ways; internally so coolant flow through it is restricted, or externally so not enough air gets through to be heated (like bugs in the radiator).

Yeah I would take a look at the core for sure. I have had one get blocked externally by leaves getting in the box.

Also, check to make sure there is no movement in the heater valve by hand. I have had one that would move with the selector on the inside but did not travel near the amount it was supposed to. The cable had stretched over the years. My beater Accord is still like this. I have to open the hood everyday in the afternoon before I head home to set it back to cold.

Thanks guys, I got it fixed this afternoon. I removed the blower and stuck my hand up in the box. I found my AC evaporator core was clogged. By clogged I mean so much dirt and lint on it that the air could not blow through it.
So I removed the evap box and this is what I found.

It is supposed to be clear enough for air to blow through it. I tried to wash it out in the box but there are just 4 screws and 4 clips that hold it in. So I removed it to run some water through it.

Much better this is the clogged side. I didn't try to get it spotless just to where I could see light through it good.
Put it back in here.

It blows very good now, not quite blow your hat off but about 500% better. We will see tomorrow. I also ordered a new t-stat today so I will put that in too. I should have done it when I had the motor out but I'm cheap like that.
My AC is discharged so no problem removing the lines to the Evap. I will work on the AC when it gets to be about 100.
