Heat not working

So tonight it was a little chilly and the lady seemed cold, so I went to turn on the heat, and after 10 min or so it was still blowing normal air. Just like the fan was on. Not cold, not hot. I've only owned the 4runner for a couple weeks, and this was the first time it was cool enough to need the heat.

The A/C still works great, and the fan blows fine, it just doesn't get warm when I switch to the heat.

I did some searching and couldn't find a definite answer. I figured it was the heater core or something along those lines. I also saw some people saying it's a coolant issue and could be a major fix (I sure hope not). The coolant looks fine in it. I just checked it the other day and it was great.

Any ideas on where to start looking?

You didn't say which year vehicle you have. It might matter. the heater controls changed at some point; My '97 has the older, bicycle shifter-type cables that operate the heater valves and flaps.
If it was my '97, I'd first check the valve on the center of the firewall. Is it connected to the cable? Does it function when the cable is pulled? Does hot coolant flow through the hose that goes into the cab and toward the heater core?

Whoops, thought I posted that. It's a 2000 limited.

99% sure I've found the issue. Looked into it more today and I'm fairly sure the box (I'm not sure what it's called) that changes the position of the vent to allow the warm air in is not working. Since I have a Limited, it is electronically controlled by a motor from what I can understand. I can hear the motor turning, and nothing changes. I can see the cable coming out of the box, yet it doesn't move when the controls are changed.

Also the rear heat works great, so if I'm not mistaken, that tells me the box thing is bad and needs replaced.

Guess I need to order one of those.

Anyone know exactly what I need to look up to order?
