heated seats switch module?

I have a 2007 limited. It has driver and passenger heated seats. The configuration for those who aren't familiar, is a little wheel toggle on each side of the center console. You roll it to adjust the desired heat.

In more current vehicles, they have a push button system that you push 3 or so different times to designate the different level of heat you want.

I am about to have a remote starter installed and an available option is to have my heated seats turn on when the temperature in my car is at a certain point (according to the installer). He said that is doesn't work with my current setup. Is there a way to upgrade to a more current system with the push button? I am assume there is some sort of module out there.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

If you just left the seat heater dial 'on' wouldn't they heat up when the truck started?

The other option seems like a novel idea but is the automatic feature really worth the extra and possibly complex wiring into your seat heater system?

My wife has the Limited and it seems like the seats heat up in about 90 seconds

Just about everything we do is a novelty. I certainly could leave it on, and do. The idea here is to see if I can do something different. Doesn't seem far fetched given what some on here have been able to do.

I imagine there is some sort of module between the seat and the new switch that will regulate the signal to the seat based on what level of heat you choose.

The difference is that your switch is what controls the current to the seats. The other switches control a microprocessor which controls a relay where all the current goes through.

If you want to keep you existing system, the easiest way would be for you to tap into the wiring for the existing switch and install a relay. You'd have to leave the seat heaters on all the time and let the remote starter turn the seats on and off. Note that this scenario assumes that the remote start has the ability to control the seats all the time (or at least until the cabin is warm enough that you don't need them).

A lot of possible solutions depend on how the remote start functions and when it would turn off the seats.

Bingo! Where do I find this relay and microprocessor?
