My 99 4runner is having problems with the Heater/AC Control display. I can turn the temperature up or down but I cant change where the heat comes out of. The defrost doesn't work either and sometimes it goes on by itself.
Aside from the temperature nob, the AC button is the only other one that works at the moment. Toyota quoted around $1,450 to replace the Heater control. Will replacing it fix the problems or could there be more to it possibly?
The price quoted is way too steep. Can this part be bought online cheaper and is it easy to install? I figured I need to get to fixing this as its getting cold up here (Alaska)
