Hey all,
I have a '91 4runner purchased in the winter of 2005.
Last summer the water pump outlet hose broke off,so I replaced the water pump, timing belt, and eventually the radiator.
There was quite a bit of rust in the system. And there still is, even after several flushings.
I'm still losing coolant and I can't pinpoint the source. No leaks anywhere I can detect.
Yesterday I noticed there was little to no heat. Normally there is the sound of water rushing into the heater core (I think) but now there's no sound. I am thinking the heater core is the source of my problems.
I have the factory manuals and I can't seem to find a section on heater core replacement.
Has anyone here done it? How bad a job is it? Any details?
Thanks in advance.
Kurt
