Heavy Duty Rear Sway Bar Links

Hi all,
I recently made a pair of rear end links for my heavily modified 4Runner, attempting to build upon the great aftermarket upgrades that are already offered. After running trails such as Elvis and Woodpecker in Arizona (YouTube them if you’re not familiar!), I am convinced that these are a superior product. I am offering these to fellow forum members only, if interested. These fit all 03+ 4Runners and 07+ FJ Cruisers, except for those 5th gen TEs that have the KDSS option. The main features of the sway bar links that I am offering:

• Zinc plated, Teflon lined rod end for superior longevity
• The unique feature of stainless steel misalignment spacers on both sides of rod end. In my experience this prevent premature wear of rod end from bolt and nut contacting rod end at full articulation
• Beefy zinc plated threaded steel rod rated at 125,000 PSI tensile strength
• New Energy Suspensions polyurethane bushings (I have tried thermoplastic and, in my opinion, these are too soft to hold up to many episodes of intense articulation). The supplied bushings are notched to carry additional lubricant. Much like Total Chaos UCA bushings, I have found that a waterproof and multi-purpose synthetic lubricant containing PTFE - such as Super Lube - prevents squeaking.
• All new Grade 8 hardware
• Available for 0-3” lifts, if you have more than 3" of rear lift I can build a custom set to meet your setup (please PM me if that is the case)
• Simple installation with 19 mm wrench/socket.
• Instructions for installation/proper bushing deflection are provided

Also note the comparison picture showing the anemic stock links, and these stout, extended length links.

Yes, these are substantially longer than stock and much beefier. They will allow you to get your sway bar back into it's intended position, will not bend under stress like the factory links, and allow for more articulation for those of us who retain our sway bars. I run these with my MetalTech LT rear suspension and the sway bar does not limit the travel, the stock links would limit the articulation. Full articulation + stability for highway driving!

You should post up the stock endlinks, just for comparison. Those look super beefy. I had some WabFab quick disconnects years ago for my old 4Runner. Great product and I believe yours have similar specs, except yours are cheaper. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah I been considering the MetalTech LT rear but MT says to remove the sway bar which I really don't want to do so these are just what is needed.

Whats your impressions of the MetalTech kit? Is it worth the almost $1k (with lower links) to gain a couple inches of travel? How much lift was achieved with it? What is the limiting factor? The shock? Or are you running straps? Got pics??

I also run airbags for towing and not sure they'll play nice with the LT but thats another thread.

Hey Qjake,

I love the Metal Tech LT rear suspension. With these links there is no need to remove the sway bar - the shock is still the limiting factor in the system. With Metal Tech's springs you'll end up right around 3" of lift. I run CSS (custom) springs, super heavy for the bumpers, etc) and have 4" of lift. No straps needed with a true 3" spring, or I guess you could run the common 2" springs with a 1" spacer. They will fall out of bucket with less than 3" springs though. Just busted my MOOG Rear End Links today...

First off, I'm a 3rd Gen 4Runner owner. Last year I replaced both rear end links and today I busted both of them trying to get the top nut off... Looking at those pics, those original ones you have on here look identical as mine. I know you made your end links for the newer models, but can anyone confirm if those are the same part?

The MOOG part number for a 3rd Gen. is K90619.

If they fit, I'll buy a pair from you ASAP!
