Thanks. I figure if I ever 'do' remove them, I can always put a couple black rubber plugs in the holes, but then they probably never will come off anyway. The light pattern isn't bad at all, for such an inexpensive light.

I'd like to see your brackets when you're finished.

Hella 500s

I have the Hella 500s and the little gap you speak of is normal and no water is going to get in there. I've had on (2) sets for several months now, fogs and driving and no water gets in there as I've taken them apart several times and they are always dry as a bone. I would suggest purchasing some clear covers to protect your lenses from rocks etc and so you don't have to take off the covers to use your lights. The covers are about $10 each.

Here's how mine looked on the OEM bumper and there is a write-up on my site. The Hellas are now on my new ARB/winch combo

I guess I don't get how you actually attached the lights to the bumper. I understand that you drilled holes for the bolts on the lights, but how did you attach the nut to keep them in place?
