Hello Everyone!

I recently had an opportunity to pick up a very clean 2001 SR-5 Sport 4x2. I'm a well-versed jeep builder (currently have a well-built 99 Wranger and stock 06 Liberty diesel), but know absolutely nothing about Toyotas..

Since it is a 4x2 (4x2 would not have been my first choice had I actually been shopping for one, but it is what it is), I'm thinking trying a pre-runner approach, with either an ARB Air Locker or some type of Electric locker (research here will help me determine the best route for the Toyota diff)..perphaps a small lift, lights on on the front..multi-mount winch..

I'm going start off a little easier with learning the basics of the toyota, places to source things (such as the missing spare tire crank..lol), etc.

I've been driving it for about three days, and I believe I'm going to become a fan of the 4-runner.

Thanks in advance for everyone's tolerence as I learn..I'm pretty good to use the search function before I post a question, so hopefully I find what I'm looking for without causing too much pain for others..I may have some very basic questions not normally covered in discussion by well-versed 4-Runner folks like "It this supposed to light up? lol

Welcome.

1st rule is post pictures BTW.. JK, but seriously. lol

With the locker, the cheaper of the two is going to be retrofitting a Toyota E-locker into your housing. (its not a direct fit, requires some cutting and welding, etc..) Search elocker retrofit to get a ton of info.

ARB is nice too, but as I am sure you know, expensive. ARB would be the better option if you have plans for an extensive on board air system.

For everything else, just take a look at some of the stickies.
