So, I was looking for a Jeep tj or cj as a first vehicle for my daughter. Then i came across an fj40 and from there decided we needed to buy a 4Runner (for the family) AND an fj40 (for me) and our daughter can wait a little while longer before she gets a car.
I have lurked around a few forums this last couple of weeks or so and decided to jump into this for the info I am looking for.
I will spend the next little while using the search tools and compiling a list of questions that I am unable to find the answers to using it.

Sound like a plan?

No, not bought yet, still looking for them. Plenty of 'em about (4R and LC) but not in my budget or if they are, they are not good enough. I dont mind mechanical issues, I have a good shop that I trust to take care of that. I want no rust though. My local body shops are not interested in these projects, they all seem to want insurance jobs and replace everything.
So its going to likely take a while, but I will get there.
EDIT. And I will probably sell my '97 Chev 1ton dually and an 1976 Airstream Argosy 28ft to pay for the fj40 purchase.

Tough to find a good body shop sometimes, sounds like a PITA to deal with those guys.
