Hello from Colorado Springs

Hi, we own a 2003 4Runner and a 2001 Tacoma. The 4Runner has a few mods, the truck has more than a few. We just got back from a week in Moab last week and had the 4Runner out on some trails. I'd like to meet some people in my area so I have someone to go wheeling with.

My truck is down right now, getting a crawl box and some new leaf springs, but when I get it fixed I'll throw some pics up of it also.

I also added this pic. A Unimog, Pinzgauer, and 4Runner were in a group that had passed me on the way to the Colorado river overlook.

Great pictures. Very jealous of the scenery, since I am stuck on the east coast for now. Over all nice ride.
 
Great looking Runner, friend! And I'm also a fan of the Moab area--what incredible trails and scenery they enjoy. Welcome to the forum! You'll find quite a few members from the Colorado Springs area, so you should have plenty of new friends to wheel with.

Redwolf: Thank you, we didn't get too many wheeling related pics because it was just so nice out there we were taking pictures of everything else!

BucknutBob: Thank you very much. It was the first time we had been there and it was just amazing. We didn't do any of the hard trails, but hopefully we can go back soon with the truck and do some of the harder ones. Nice 4Runner man, I'm not up to speed on 2nd gens, are you using a passenger side drop Toyota front axle?

Magert54: Hey. Yeah I saw your post over there on the 120 board and thought I might make an account over here. Hopefully our rear bumper will be here by tomorrow so I can get that put on and I also have to put a passenger side cv axle in it.

I'm just now starting to get into offroading, although I have done my share in the Army, but I've never really went out with a group here in Colorado before. I'm hoping to meet some nice people and learn as much as I can.

Yes, my front axle is a standard Toyota front unit out of an '83. It does quite well on the gnarly stuff. I made it out to Moab for the first (and so far, only) time last Spring, and was blown away--if there was more of a town there, I'd probably move there. I love exploring!

Yeah my truck is solid axle swapped also, it has a Dana 60 from a (I believe) 88 F350, and the rear is a full width D60 as well. I guess you could always work for the Forest Service or the Parks Service if you lived in Moab. Lots of that around there. My wife and I want to move to Montrose, Colorado. We love that part of Colorado and it's close to Ouray, which is just awesome and had tons of trails too.

I was thinking of Grand Junction myself. Like you, I liked the close access to many of the areas I want to explore and photograph, such as that whole Silverton/Ouray/Telluride area, plus the canyons of Utah just a short drive away. GJ is a nice larger city with better opportunities, while still being close to the fun for weekends and such. Dana 60's? You're loaded for bear--shouldn't have to worry about those breaking in the middle of nowhere! Sweet.
 
I see this beast driving around town all the time. I catch you at the stop sign at Fountain Mesa Rd and C&S rd all the time. Makes me drool everytime I see it. Let me know if youever want to run a few trails.
