Hello Everyone,
Total novice and recent lurker. I've driven my 99 SR5 since 2004 (I was 16). In the last ten years I've put 101K miles on the truck with few issues. It's been a great truck. I picture myself always a 4runner owner.
I come to you all as a total novice. Recently my truck had issues at idle and while driving. No issues starting. Recent issues include a chugging sensation when first started that has ended in the truck shutting down and the truck shutting down while driving on the highway.
I've recently replaced the O2 sensors, the throttle senor, and the spark plugs at the mechanics recommendation yet the truck once again recently shut off at while stopped in traffic. I've also noticed some off vibrations in the peddle while driving (it seems like the truck is shifting gears). To complicate things , the truck sustained front and rear damage in an accident (hit from behind and pushed under a flat bed truck). The tow hitch is broke over the spare, the right portion of the rear end of the frame is slightly bent and crushed, the frame is bowing out a bit on the right rear panel, the grill is demolished, and the hood totaled (being held down by bungie cables).
So I bought a 08 SR5 4x4 with 90K miles on it today.
Hoping for another good decade to come/
