Always wanted the trustworthy 4 Runner. I was not a fan of the gen 5. I was able to land a sweet deal on a 2008 4x4 Sport 4.0 V6 with 75,000 miles one owner vehicle, clean car fax for $14,500. 4x4 high I noticed a small grind in the transfer case when turning the knob at approximately 5 mph (slow crawl) but, the grinding noise is not heard at all when turning the knob into 4 high when at a full stop, going into reverse for about a 5 ft roll and, then going into drive. It engages fine. I will not engage the 4 high will rolling. I hate that grinding noise. Is that normal?
