Just wanted to introduce myself. From northern NJ and got my first 4R about 2 months ago. I would have to say that this is the best vehicle that's i've owned and i've own quite a bit...lol. It's a 2007 Limited with 19K miles on it. I'll use it for skiing as well as towing my bike to the track.

Wow that's a good buy for a 3year old truck with only 19k miles on it, man that thing just practically rolled off the production line. Congrats and welcome!
 
Thanks for the warm welcome. This is my first 4R and I'm really liking the truck in the way it drives on the road. Only upgrades that I plan on doing is a bull bar, a chrome exhaust tip, and all weather mats. I may want to look into some intake parts as well.

What color is your interior? I have a set of OEM all-weather and carpeted mats (in beige) I no longer need.

Welcome to the forum!!! You got a great truck at a great price. Congratulations!!!

The consensus on this forum seems to be that OEM all-weather mats are inferior to Weathertech or Husky liners.

I use OEM all-weather mats in my truck and like them. The only gripe is that the driver side mat wore out under the heel and you can't buy just one mat... :bash: I found an easy fix for that - bought a $5.00 mat at Kmart, cut out a patch sized roughly 4 by 10 nches and glued it onto the mat. Presto!!!
 
With all the skiing my family does, I'm going to need some good mats. So Toyota doesn't make their own "all weather" floor mats that are rubber? I had an Audi that had rubber floor mats with the A4 printed on the mats.
I guess i have some research to do on floor mats.

Toyota makes it's own all-weather rubber mats, that's what I meant by OEM mats (they have 4Runner on printed on them). OEM mats vs liners have been discussed many times on this forum.

To summ up my opinion... I looked at Weathertech liners, you can see them at Autozone stores. They are too "plasticky" for my taste. OEM Toyota mats, on the other hand, are made of rubber, but the driver's side will wear out eventually... I have not seen Husky liner "in-person", so can't judge them.

One thing I noticed is that people seem to be very attached to whatever brand they use and always exalt the qualities of that brand. Do you research, ask questions, try to find one at a retail outlet where you can look and touch it...

As far as skiiing, the OEM mats get the job done for my family. It was my older son and I before, but this is the first year I will put my younger boy on skis. Can't wait to hit the slopes...

Sorry but Toyota/Lexus OEM all-weather mats are a POS! Top dollar for a mat that can wear out in one year. I will never buy another. I have the WTs in my Lexus and I'm completely happy. When they are installed they don't look plasticky (is that a word). You can just jump in the vehicle with any amount of snow/dirt/mud and the liners will hold it.

Thanks for the heads up on the floor mats. Think i might go with the Weathertech's.

Has anyone used Royal Purple full sync oil in there truck?

Like I said in my previous post - most people are partial to the brand that they own. Nothing wrong with that... After all, according to Osgood: "Well, nobody's perfect!" :bigok:

And yes, "plasticky" is a word, at least in my book :wink2:

Hey I used to be from Bergen county but moved to Somerset. I have a westin bull bar for sale if you are interested. I recently bought a Jaos brush guard, so I no longer need the bull bar. I'll even drop it off at Maplewood, is that off of rt 17? PM and let me know.
