Hello, I just bought a 95 4Runner probably 6 months ago and have been meaning to find a 4Runner forum or something since. I was reasonably involved in the Celica community back when I had one of those(it was a hand me down) and found the websites and forums very helpful; today I ran into a little bit of trouble off roading and that reminded me so here I am. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, I'm just very inexperienced. I was up on the mountains north of my house(I live on the Wasatch front in Utah County, UT) and my passenger side outer tie rod end snapped off and my wheels pidgeon toed. This was right about when I reached the highest point I had thus reached in my 4runner so i was a little frustrated haha. However, I managed to slide the tie rod end back over the ball thing and tie it on using ducttape and the wire from an old broken Ipod transmitter I happened to have in the glovebox, it held for the entire trip down the mountain and back to my house.
These pictures are fuzzy but they should give you an idea of what jerry rigging in its finest looks like...
Anyways, I'll probably be posting stupid questions every now and then so be prepared.
