Hi, Im knew so please remember how you felt your first time asking questions. I have a 1988 Toy 4runner. It is for the most part stock to the bone. I rebuilt the 22r and put in a new clutch. My next step is to lift it. Im not really sure the advantages and dis advantages between body vs suspension lifts. I dont want to go to high maybe 2-3 inches but dont want to have a horrible ride either. I also dont go out and pound it because it is my everyday ride. Unfortunatley I have a meager budget to work with. So I ask you,
"Gods of 4 Wheeling Knowledge" which part of your wisdom can you impart on me? Any help is most greatful!

if you want to lift it more for looks than super functionality than a body lift is the cheapest route you can fit bigger tires and still do some wheeling draw backs from what ive read more body roll or lean with the body lift versus the suspension

First off, welcome to T4R... Secondly, what size tire are u planning on running? Also going forward, try posting in the appropriate sub-forum. In your case that would be the Classics Section. :usa:

Welcome to T4R.
A body lift will give you a little more room for bigger tires, but won't really help improve offroad ability. It just lifts the body off the frame a little. A suspension lift raises the whole truck, increasing overall clearance, increases articulation, approach and departure angles, more room for bigger tires. All things that make it better offroad. .
Old Man Emulate makes a great 2 inch lift that will make ride and handling better than new.
