Help: 2002 brake lights dont work

all of the other tail lights work. my kick panel left of drivers has 10a for both turn (which work) and stop. I just swapped the two fuses to verify that it was good. placing the 10a fuse from the stop into the turn, the turn signals still work. is there any other fuse Im missing ? There is a tail light fuse under the hood...if that was out would that cause ONLY the brake lights to fail?!

Im super confused and travel 100s of miles at a time sometimes so need to get this fixed on my day off.

The only work done recently was negative battery cable fixed, new terminal, not sure if cable is new but it looks nice and clean. I think he said he just lopped off some of the end and put the terminal back on.

thanks for any insight.

Here is a wiring diagram and to me it should be simple enought make sure the fuse is not blown and the next thing u want to check is the brake light switch if u unplug the switch the brake lights should be on and if that happend then more likely the switch is bad. image.jpg
