ok.. so i use my '86 fuel injected 22r 4runner for off road use only just to get that out the way. currently it turns over and gets really really close to starting but just wont. it amazingly started doing this after a serious run in with very loose sand at the bottom of a some what deep creek. (cough cough) so.. cap rotor wires plugs computer have all been replaced. the mass air meter box thing has no rust or corrosion and the fuel pump is pumping and the fuel filter is new. the rings are pretty bad and i have some compression loss but not enough to not make it run cause it was running after it got out the creek but only every now and then but now it just will not run at all. another thing that blows my mind is if i hold the gas peddle to the ground and turn it over for a good while and then let off the gas it will run for about 3-5 seconds and die. if you try and hit the gas while it is running it dies. any ideas of suggestions at all?
