Help a brotha out??

I just saw at least 5 on eBay, and that was on the first page.

These are new hoods that of course are not OEM, and are not painted. You'd need some other parts to finish it off, but still not bad for pricing. This might help.

Hood 1 - $190 shipped
Hood 2 - $215 shipped
Hood 3 - $303 shipped

You'll still need the bulge, mesh insert, seals, and screws.

I've seen lots on E-bay too.... but they won't ship to me. The first link you posted... when I open my E-bay page... it says.. "May not ship to Canada". IT's like we're banished to Maple Syrup land... with no chance for parole, or scoop hoods. :wtf:

They are a few crossborder "drop mailboxes" that reship or you can pickup. However, this item will crate and/or pallet ship so I don't see the cost effectiveness. Maybe a south border visit is in your future!

I was thinking the same thing... however, I don't have a passport. I used to be able to cross over with just my Driver's Licence... but after 9-11, border access changed... and I need a passport now. I think I heard of other options to cross over.... going to look into that. Maybe I can hide in the trunk of a car?? :P

There's one in International Falls and in Grand portage(drop mailbox) I don't know if they would ship to you but that's where all the Canucks that live in Fort Francis and Thunder Bay ship their stuff and then go pick up.

How does this work? Would I need to cross over? Or do they drop it on the Canada side of the border?

Get a USA post office box in Nigara Falls NY.
They charge $5 US for parcels delivered to them ($10 for large packages).
I have picked up TONS of stuff that "won't ship to Canada" by simply having it shipped to the NY address then driving over and picking it up.

If your desperate buy a beat up up hood… Put it on your truck and drive it across the border… Pick up the new hood and swap it out… Drive back across border with new hood.

Also, get a passport.. Just 100$ and some paperwork...

Sounds like a viable option... but NY is over 12hrs away. I would be better off going to Minnesota... as it's slightly closer.

There's a guy on here who is selling a Sport Hood in the classifieds. He's been killing himself trying to help me figure out a way to ship it to me. So far the cheapest option is UPS, at a cost of $315.00 for shipping, + the cost of his hood ($250.00), and I figure there will be brokerage fees and such.

The Dealer in a nearby town will sell me all the parts I need for $875.00 shipped... plus 13% taxes.

I'm getting closer.... but so expensive!!

If you found one around here, I'd be willing to snag it and take it across the border. It might be a month or two before I could do it, but I have a lot of friends up just south of the Canadian border that I visit often. Wouldn't be a big deal to cross and then ship it.

Obviously it would have to make sense to you cost wise.

Plus the cost for some wider flares. Because you know it doesn't look right without them! :hiding:

I got my hood from carparts.com .

Part #: T130101

I just go it this week and installed it within 45 minutes with no alignment issues and didn't have to modify anything. I believe they're out of VA so I don't know about shipping up there.

I just checked out their shipping page and didn't say anything about not being able to ship to Canada, so one can only assume that they do.

Do you have a certifit around you? They sell sports hoods for $90 diwn here. You would still need to paint and get the insert but not a bad deal.

No Certifit's that I know of... I'm in a town, in a galaxy far far away...lol!

All kidding aside, it's very hard to get anything here at times... and the cost of things is often much more.

I found a good deal in the classifieds here... but I ended up talking with a friend of mine, who found me a decent deal on all the parts I need to do this mod.

I was so close to buying Faheem's hood though... check it out if you're in the market for a scoop hood!
