Help a Noob out

ICD

So early this morning I got a bad surprise, I found a little oil leak which looked and later found out it was trans fluid. After work got a some time to check her out and the whole undercarriage was dry no fresh oil anywhere except for this little plug and cant figure out what it is.

It is right under the shifter area, I've owned her for about 2weeks and hasn't leaked until today.

Thanks again in advance

Go to your local hardware ,fastner store or even part store .They usually carry a variety of O rings.

So some luck, went down to the dealer today and they just so happen to sell just the o ring for the speed sensor and its a dollar. It has to be ordered so I'm checking the funds to see if I can just go ahead and order my LBJ while I'm at it.

You're going to leak fluid out of that once you pull it out. Have some to replace.

If it's on the T-case, use gear oil.

If it's on the trans, then use trans fluid.

Took about 15 min. To remove, inspect, clean and replace. No fluid came out. Was told by a few people that I should expect any either.

Unfortunately I found my left outer tie rod was a little split, and haven't the slightest idea on how to replace those was only going to do the LBJ. Anyone got a write up for the OTR

Parked a little behind where I usually do, now the moment of truth will be tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Yeah,

Just do the parts for the outer tierod

Also this if you haven't seen it for your lower balljoint

This O-ring leak leads me to think about your transmission oil temp. O-rings get bad with the heat. I recently dealt with lots of O-rings and the only O ring that was good was in the fuel pressure regulator (which typically at low temps).

Do you still have the TOYOTA radiator?

Well no leak this morning, so far a victory.

I'm in PHX so heat is something we have more than enough of, so I'd imagine it has something to do with it. The radiator was replaced with OEM Unit. Future plans involve a new radiator and external trans cooler. But LBJ and OTR are a priority right now

Alright so epic fail.

The leak skipped a day and she is back. The area where the speed sensor goes in is dry and clean. The problem area seems to be right above the speed sensor

Any help would be much appreciated.

:roadkill:
So tried something different today. Left her in the garage last night to see if maybe the cold temp had something to with it and no oil leak. Getting under today and see any fresh oil.
