Just picked this up 1 week ago.

'07, V8, 4x4, Limited (NO XREAS or Rear leveling)

Intended use:
- Daily Driver
- 7-10 times a year towing the Race Car (a Miata on a steel open deck trailer), I figure car/trailer/tools/fuel/spares will at most be in the 4500-5000lb range.
- Occasional camping or light trail work, nothing extreme, no crawling, etc.

I'd like to end up with around a 2.5/1.5 lift, which I know I could easily do with a spacer lift, but I feel even stock the truck is a bit undersprung.

I'm thinking 5100s, FJ coils, small spacers? I'm curious if I can still get to some combination of 2.5/1.5 with the mentioned setup. 1.75" ring on the front shocks and a 1" spacer in the rear?

Then go +1 on the tire size with some wheel spacers.

Am I on the right track? Or does someone have a better suggestion?

You're on the right track. 5100s and FJ coils would be my suggestion, with a Daystar 1.5" rear spacer. Also, consider adding Firestone or Airlift air bags to the rear for when you're towing, it'll help support the weight. With around 2.5" lift, 275/65/18s look great and will fit with minor trimming.

Any more input would be greatly appreciated!

I agree with everything A_S_R said.

After going through several more expensive setups with OME, SAW, and Radflo coils and shocks I ended up going back to the FJ springs and 5100s because I think it's a good economical setup with a great ride. I run the 5100s at .85" and no spacer in the back, but the ride will be similar with the spacers.

edit- I just realized you said +1 tire size, that would be 265/70R17 or 265/65R18, which is what I run. If you only want 265s then just the bilsteins and FJ springs will be sufficient to clear them. It seems that most who run the 2.5/1.5 or 3/2 lift end up wanting 275s or 285s. I know I did, that's another reason i went back to the FJ/5100 setup.
