HELP!!! AAE Steering Rack

Okay so has anyone EVER used the AAE racks for 3rd gens?? I cantell find alot of info. And can't really find any negatives... who has first hand experience with these and reviews!!??

Believe it is part number AAE 3273n

Most aftermarket racks all come from 1-2 suppliers. They are all hit or miss. Mine is leaking 3 years in. Both inner tie rod ends failed. Oem if you can. But they are pretty pricey.

Did yours come with a lifetime warranty? Looking at one that has lifetime and wanted to know if they give you the run around when it comes time to exchange

In bought a new one from toyotasteering.com. they never answered phone or emails. Never called me back. Just replaced with oem tie rods and top off fluid every month.

Yeah, like I said I ha e yet to read anything "bad" about the AAE rack so I wanted to find first hand experienced people that has had or has one currently

I ended up buying a new non oem rack that had really good ratings from what I researched at the time. It was I believe $350 shipped. The inner tie rod ends failed. I installed some cheap $40 inner tie rod ends after getting run around from where I bought it.

They failed that same month on my first offroad trip. I found they have a slightly different casting not allowing the same droop and I think this caused them to pull out the socket and maybe caused my rack to leak.

I then broke down and paid $120 each for OEM ITRE's. Now the rack has been solid for years. But again I had to pay $350 + $240 to get a solid rack thats not OEM and leaks.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. My mechanic keeps telling me aftermarket is fine because it has a warranty but 1, I'll have to keep paying for labor when it breaks and 2, if the warranty is going to be a huge hassle then it's just not worth it.

Labor of the rack is pretty major. I also damaged my power steering pressure line and its like $250 aftermarket if I remember right. Luckily member here parting out sold me a used OEM for $75. The labor charge im guessing is pretty high for the rack. Also its hard to get aligned perfect. If you dont have it centered it can break the clock spring which becomes a larger issue.
 
I have the AAE from Rock Auto. Rack is working great after 40k miles. No leaks etc The inner tie rod went out and had to be replaced but that's an easy job. I have been hapy with it for the price just be prepared to replace ITRs quicker than OEM. I replaced the ITR on mine with oem should be good to go for a while now.
