HELP: Airbag light, Turn Signals, shifter lights, cruise control

I've been searching around and haven't found my same problem. Maybe I was just not searching correctly. But here it goes.

I was driving today and suddenly my airbag light came on, my turn signals stopped working (but hazards do work), the shift lights on the center console and dash board went out, and the avg. mpg/miles in tank/avg. speed indicator turned off.

I'm thinking it's a fuse, but my finding have not been so helpful. Any thoughts?

I have also had an issue where every once and a while my rear passenger blinker will stop working for 5-10 minutes, the blinker indicator light flash quick like there's a dead bulb. But it always goes back to normal before long.

So, I see no one responded to your post. Don't know if you were able to resolve your issue, however, I had a similar experience. Here's what happened to my 2005 4Runner V6 Sport.

I was getting ready to replace the brake pads, rotors and do a complete flush of the brake fluid. so on a Monday, I was messing around under the hood and checking lights and noticed my fog lights were not working.

I checked all the usual suspects, fuse, relay etc. and found nothing wrong. I thought to myself, I'll deal with it later. I made a run to the store and discovered my turn signals were not working, humm, what could that be? Again I checked fuse and it was good.

Next day I was running a couple of errands and the airbag light came on along with the check engine, traction control. So I disconnected the battery to reset the ECU. Next trip out more thing quit working, climate control, cruise control etc., at this point I knew something strange was happening. Each successive use produced more things not working.

The final blow came when I was going to run over to AutoZone and have them plug-in to the OBD to diagnose the issue. As I started to pull away from the house, the engine died and would not crank over.

Turns out the alternator quit putting out enough current to keep the battery charged. Now am I crazy or what? Is there no alternator warning light? I recharged the battery, started the engine and checked the alternator output, 11.9V, should be 12.5 to 13.5V. Problem solved.

Question, is there a way to know if the alternator is failing without constantly checking output?

I got a battery light which usually means 5 miles to go before juice runs out. That didn't happen with mine. Battery tested good out of line. Turns out voltage regulator was outputting 14.5V which is too high. Replaced alternator and light went out. I replaced battery at 3 year mark even though it was still starting the engine.

On a side note, with fresh electric sources, engine and transmission run better than ever.

Clock spring might have failed. At least that's what my mind jumps to. Your horn shouldn't work either if this is the case.
