Help finish slider install

I finally got my bolt-on shrockworks sliders, and the install went fairly easy... but it's not quite done. I'm ran into the same issue with the front bolt on each side.

I'm trying to figure out how to bend the bolt like others have done, which I expect will fix the problem. Unfortunately, I don't have a maul, and I'm not sure how much I want to buy to address this single thing.

Ideas?

What do you mean bend the bolt?

Are you talking about how the frame welds stick out enough to cause the wrap around U-Bracket on the Sliders not to line up properly and the bolt holes don't clear the frame? Because I ran into that with my CBI sliders, I ended up just drilling the holes up a little so I got the extra 1/8" I needed to clear the frame rail. In hindsight it might have just been easier to grind the section of weld bead down, oh well live and learn.

I was just hoping to accomplish the same thing without having to get unnecessary tools. However a $12 forged mallet from lowes appears to be doing the job.

Gonna try to complete the install tomorrow. Just in case I need to do more driving, is there much risk to doing so without the driver's side heat shield? I took it off for the install and didn't bother putting it back on since it's not done.

i used this, no need to bend bolt. Shrockworks Sliders

Grinding down the weld beads might have done it, but I didn't really have the tools for that either.

Fortunately I managed to get the bolts bent, and they're both on now. There wasn't enough room to get the locking washer on the front driver's side bolt, but I tightened it down without it in the hopes that it will hold that position and I can redo it later.

Bottom line, install successful!
