Help fix my truck!

Hola amigos
I just purchased a 2001 Limited last week.
It needs tires but I’m afraid that the tires I want to mount will rub. The stock springs are tired and need attention.

My goal is 32” tires on 17s without rubbing in mild 4wd situations- nothing extreme.

Will my cart get me to where I want to be?

Congrats. That's a clean rig.

I would start by doing preventative maintenance before buying your lift/tire setup. If your stock springs and shocks are tired, then I'm sure your LBJ's, bushings, etc are tired as well. This will help fix your truck.

These rigs are awesome, and will last forever as long as you give it the TLC they deserve.
 
I presume you know this, but your wheels are 16", not 17".

Just pointing it out since you didn't have wheels in your cart
 
265/70-17 tires will clear with everything stock, assuming the alignment is correct (set caster to high end of stock range) and the wheel offset is reasonably close to stock. No changes needed.

Keep in mind that the suspension travels the same arc whether it is lifted or not unless you change suspension arms, bump stops, etc.

Fixed the rubber issue with some craigslist Bridgestone Duelers sized 265 75 16 75% tread $260 installed otd .
That will hold me until I get a minor lift. The 17”s are going to get bigger tires when that happens.

I guess the new tires confused the yaw sensor.
The traction light came on several times at hwy speed and VSC TRAC tried to kill me with robot inputs.
I reset the zero when I got home. Now the VSC OFF and VSC TRAC light come on when you start rolling and stay on until you shut off the ignition.

Repeated zero point calibration followed by deceleration sensor calibration and all the lights go out.
I jumped out on the highway for a test drive and vsc/ trac started entering braking and deceleration inputs in a blatant attempt on my life.
Lather rinse repeat 6 times with test drives on the side roads in awd to keep this thing from killing me.
I finally did the zpc without the deceleration calibration to trigger the lights back on and to shut down vsc so that at least it’s driveable.

I don’t know if I have a bad wheel sensor or not.
Everything seemed fine before the tires were changed.
I’m not sure about test procedure to eliminate the wheel sensors or their wiring.

It seems to me that if a sensor was bad or if the wiring was damaged then abs would fault and the abs light would come on.
I’m not sure exactly what’s going on here.

Follow this video to get your codes for your ABS and VSC.

You can read the codes in the FSM, I think it's a little after page 400.

That'll tell you if you have a bad sensor and which one is acting up. Then you can check if the sensor is good by pulling the wheel off and following the wire from the sensor up into the well until there is a connector. Unplug the connector and check the resistance. It should be ~2000 ohms.
