Help getting wiring from the rear roof rack to the battery.

Adding some rear spot lights and I have no idea how to get the positive wire all the way to the battery.

Can the negative attach somewhere towards the back or does that have to go all the way up to the fender or - terminal also?

One other thing, if my positive wire is too short can I solder any wire as an extension or is there a certain type I should get?

You can ground the negative wherever and extend the positive with any wiring the same gauge or bigger (smaller number) gauge than what the harness is. I usually extend my wiring with 14-12 gauge depending on the length of the run. So far as running it to the front, you can either run it along the roof and down the windshield (you can tuck the wiring into the weather stripping on the windshield) into the engine bay, or you can go into the hatch, under the headliner, behind the trim, and run it down the side under all the trim, up to the front, and through the firewall. Kind of a pain in the ass.

Find yourself the local neighborhood car audio guy and get them to give you a hand. The wiring is pretty straightforward but dealing with removing interior trim pieces wiout breaking them and routing wire through the headliner/firewall is the hard part.
