Help: How to remove lift gate door lock actuator

I need some help on how to remove the lift gate door lock actuator unit (controls locking, power window, handle operation). It looks like it's riveted into the back door.

My key isn't locking and unlocking the back door and the pushrod isn't connected to one of the pieces on the lock actuator, but I can't see the problem because it's on the back of the actuator.

I just removed one recently. To be honest, I was dismantling it and it was extremely difficult to remove. I ended up breaking it because I could not get it out for the life of me.

Well that's a bummer. Maybe someone has swapped one successfully. I have a spare in another door, but I'd have to remove it as well. Never seen anything installed like that on a Toyota before. Usually they make it where you can easily swap stuff like that.

Yeah it's very counter intuitive. The rest of the window regulators in the windows are a cinch to take in and out but that rear one is really stuck in there good.

Sounds like I'll have to live with it. I haven't searched yet, but is there a public FSM on this site?

Im just gonna unplug it or cut the wire, why make it complicated if tou dont have to? Im doing this on a 94 SR5.

Yeah, you'll find the mechanical section of the FSM attached. It's not very helpful, I looked at it when I was trying to remove it, hence the just breaking it part.
