Help identifying hose near transfer case

Hey everyone, poked my head under the 4Runner today just to inspect everything and noticed this hose was hanging. Anyone know what it’s for or where it is supposed to be connected? Looks like it’s just dry rotted and come off, don’t see any fluid coming from it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

That hose likes to dry-rot with age. Just snip off maybe 1/4" or so and cram it back on. Be sure the little barb fitting is OK though. A buddy had the little fitting snap off on his front diff. Previous owner tried to super glue it back. It didn't work so it popped loose while he was doing some trails and filled the actuator full of water. Oops.....
