Help! Is this a good deal on a new "demo" X-SP 2006?

I am looking into purchasing my first 4runner. I found a leftover 2006 on the lot and it is pretty loaded:

2006 SR5 V6 4X4
Titanium Metallic
-XSP Package (Suede/Leather Seats, Dual Exhaust, 20inch rims, carbon fiber trim)
-Sunroof
-Side Airbags
- Power Seats
-DRL
-Roof Rack
-Navigation System

The list price on the rig is $41,669 and the dealer quoted me at $34000 OTD (SC Tax caps at $300). Is this a fair deal for a car that is already a year old? It does have 5,000 miles but it was never titled and selling as a new car. I am just concerned that a $6000 (which includes rebate) may be too little of a discount for a "demo" car that is already a year old... any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Like I said earlier, I would offer them about 10,000 off, so 31,699... Remind the dealer boys it has 5000 miles on it and no telling what has been done to it or in it... You can start lower than 31,699... They may go for 30,500, who knows?

People, myself included, like to flog the crap out of demo vehicles so I am sure that the engine is not broken in properly.:biggrin2:

For me, $34,000 would be a bit high. First off, the truck is one model year old even though it is still being sold as new. Second, it has 5,000 "rough" miles on it. It may not seems like a lot, but just think about how people test drive a new car. Everybody likes to see the acceleration and braking capabilities of a vehicle before they buy it. I would try getting them down to $30,000.

34k does seem high, you can get a brand new pretty well loaded Sport V8 4x4 for about that price. If you really want that particular 4Runner, I would try to get them to go MUCH lower.

That's about what I paid for my 05 SE but it had like 5 miles on it. No leather, wheels or exhaust but it still had plastic wrap on it. I think 31,699 is quite fair. I do like those wheels though...

As much as I love those wheels, I'm pretty sure they are the ones that have failed. If they are not, good, if they are BAD. I would ask for a different wheel. Heres the thread i was talking about.

The rig looks great and I think they are asking to much. 5k and was probably pounded on by the techs,customers and sales people. If you can get them down to 30-31k i think i would do it. There has to be some reason it is still there

I would offer them less. I have this exact model, color, pkg.

I found two before I purchased: one in FL for $24,500 with 26,000 miles (this one was missing the sunroof, and borla exhaust) , and one if AL for $19,500 with 36,000 miles (this one has it all) I bought this one.

I know that the one you are considering has much less miles on it, but their discount isn't deep enough. Not to mention, I haven't found anywhere that supports what they are telling you it sold for new.

Well, yes, that was a bit late. I will check dates before I reply to posts. Sorry! (Thanks for appreciating the content, though) And, yes, sorta once and done, was looking for info on how easily these 20" rims can be damaged. Some of these beach back roads are under construction and pot-holes-o-plenty. Well reverse ones anyway. I feel silly worrying about avoiding manhole covers when the truck drives so tight! And lastly..... I'm a she, not a he.
