Help me choose a 5th gen

Don't pay 80% of new to get someone else's deferred wear and tear and 50k miles and dog hair. You can buy new and have the same if not lower cost of ownership, year for year. If you can find a screaming deal on a good used truck, great, but otherwise do yourself a favor and get new! IMO. Good luck.

I would go new, but the look of the 2014s (except the limited) are totally unacceptable to me.

I would get new, I was thinking used and looked at what people were asking and I bought new.

I think the darker colors make "the predator" much less dramatic, if that helps. I saw a red one today and it looked great. I think the refresh will grow on just about everyone, just needs some time as all refreshes do. Some people will never get there and I get that. Evolution is good IMO.

I actually hated the 2014 redesign too when I first saw it and was going to go Limited, because it looked better. But as I saw it more and more and in person, it really grew on me. I actually like it now. Remember the 2014 has a really nicely updated interior, I really like the projection headlights too. Yes darker colors help the front blend it better.

There are lots of new 2013's still out there. I'm tempted to get one. I could probably love with a black or mag grey 2014 Trail, or a silver or mag grey 2014 LE.

I think the new look will grow on me over time, but I could just not deal with it right now.

I ended up locking in on a 2011 Mag gray SR5 4x4.

It already had many things on it I wanted and drove decent. The price I negotiated was also fair.

It has some flaws in the paint, but nothing major and I plan to use this as an actual SUV with a fair amount of time on the dirt anyway... So I won't feel bad beating it up a little.

I plan to pick it up in a few days. This is my first time to purchase used, so I'm hoping it goes well and that Toyota does not disappoint me.
