Help me decide on a color to Repaint my 1985 in.

So I picked up this truck a month ago knowing that it had the typical rust on fenders and quarters. I purchased new fenders and quarters and have found a painter to do the work. I thought I would just repaint it in the factory color, but now that sounds boring ( i have a cement trd pro 4runner and custom color on my vette) and I am thinking of doing a color change.

I was thinking quicksand my look really cool on a 1rst gen, but was wondering if any of you had any other suggestions for a cool color rather than just the factory grey?

I'm not really a fan of quicksand...

I think the factory gray or red would look great!

My favorite is Toyota Cardinal Red (code 3H7)

I was debating doing an Army-ish green with black factory decals

If you want to get a bit more flashy, Mercedes has this metallic green that would look hot in that color scheme:

White, black, grey, silver, red, sand, orange, that voodoo blue, lima green, all of them look very good in the T4R.
I'll paint my truck with the original red wine color and I'll change it with plasti dip every couple of years... my wife'll kill me... oh yeahh!!!!

Metallic colors do not look good on older trucks. Especially trail trucks. I think a good looking solid like that FJ cruiser green(I'm pretty sure that is a metallic paint so I'm contradicting myself) would be a good choice. Anything flashy like that Mercedes color screams 'look at my show truck', instead of a tough looking classic. Get a solid color or something with a small amount of metallic in it and you won't go wrong.

i rattle canned my 81 Trekker desert tan. rough but it did the trick
