I've narrowed my search down to 3 choices..

BFG All Terrains
Nitto Terra Grapplers
Toyo OPen Country All Terrain

Going with 265/70R17 if it makes a difference. I need opinions and experiences. I've had experience with the BFG and Nitto, the only one I haven't had before are the Toyos. I've had a couple people tell me that they're good tires. The only offroading I'll be doing with them is some beach driving. Nothing major. I appreciate any information you guys can provide

Hi AfroWookie (cool name);
Personally, I'm a fan of BFG, because I worked there and saw them built so I know what goes in to them. Depending on where you live (didn't see that before I replied), look for the snow rated one's for wet conditions.

I'm certain there are others on here with experience on the others.

i just put 2656018's on my 2006 4runner ltd v8 4x4..have run many sets of bridgestone at types and they are great tires. they handle the rain, road and offroad superbly. i do have a set of bfgatko's load range e tires on my taco 4x4 v6. they also handle very well...and u never will get a flat...there are a lot of good tires out there...

I have 265/65R18 BFG ATs and before had 265/70R17 (same size) and I really like them but if you don't plan to off road it's probably not worth it unless you just want the looks.

I don't think they ride bad or are overly loud by any means but I'm sure the Nittos or Toyos would be a bit more comfortable on the road and on mpg.

Of course, you say you've had BFG ATs so I assume you know what to expect. If that's true and they're still in the running then I vote for them :rockon:

Btw there are tons of threads here on tires and it's all really just opinions so you should expect one of the thread nazis to chime in soon.

Voting for mine Coops at3 good tweener tire kinda like the toyos & their MADE N THE USA , honestly really pleased so far & their LTs

Thanks for the replies everybody!

Let them chime in. I wasn't asking for opinions on best out there. I have my choices narrowed down and asked about those 3. This isn't my first forum rodeo haha. But thanks for the warning haha

I've decided on the Nitto Terra Grapplers. A friend of a friend owns a garage and he quoted me $700 for the 4 tires, mounted and balanced, and a front end alignment. I think that's a pretty fair deal. What do you guys think? It's been a while since I've had to buy tires for a truck
