Help me decide on BF KO2s

The skinnies won't rub nearly as much as a 275 or 285 would. I just put 255/75/17's on my stock 3rd gen and I only had to trim the tip of my sport flare and my aftermarket mudflaps. I don't have a lift. I saw a set of brand new 255/80/17 ST Maxx's on a 5th gen yesterday, and they are very good looking tires as well.

DANG! 3 foot lift is crazy town. Big fan of the 255/80r17's tho. Don't think you could go wrong with either tire as they both seem to be quite popular along with the Duratracs.

I'm not real knowledgeable on tires but I recently bought duratracs that are 285/75/16 and they do rub will off-roading and going up the curb but I am going to trim up the fenders and stuff so they can clear!
And I forgot to mention I have a 3" toytec lift

I am running 275/70/17 BF AT KO2's I am also running a 3in lift.

I just did the soronan steel 1.2 and put the 255 80 17 cooper st maxx on mine. I thought about the ko2s as well but went with the cooper's instead have a 1.25 wheel spacer and couldn't be happier. They don't rub at all but haven't been wheeling yet. Plus got them on amazon for 30 bucks cheaper than the k02

K02's are a great looking/performing tire. However, I'd still recommend the Duratrac in this size. Much smoother ride than E or D load range, lighter weight, and don't have to trim fenders. I made the switch from 33's to 32's yesterday, and the difference is staggering.
Do you have a lift? Wondering how it looks. A little smaller size than I was wanting to run

I've always been a BFG guy, but I just put 255/85/16 ST Maxx's on and I like them so far. But I will tell you, they look much smaller on my 4R than the 285/75/16s I replaced. I'm getting used to it but more importantly they perform well off road. They will be a little bit louder than the BFGs though. But they aren't too loud.

Can you tell much of a difference in driveability? Gas mileage? Do you lose much power with the 285s?
Power will suffer with 285's. Gas mileage will drop too but not that badly. I still get 17-18 mpg combined with my heavy, aggressive tread 285's and lots of other additional weight.

Just wait till your Duratracs start to wear down. They get really noisy and you will have a really hard time balancing them. If I would were the OP I would go with the Cooper St Maxx. That will be the next tire I go with.

I haven't had an issue with that but I've also only had my tires for 2 months now. I have a co-worker that put 60k miles on his BF Goodrich AT's and never had an issue.
I also don't mind the stiffer ride the load E tires KO2's have. I came from driving a BMW with run flats so I am used to it. I like the fact of knowing that these tires can take a beating.
