Help me decide what to do with my Taco Wheels

Background:
I am planning on doing the Tundra Brake Upgrade. I have not done it before now because I have the style of wheels that don't fit over it. I just bought a set for four Taco "Snowflake" wheels for $125, with lug nuts. They are in great shape; the truck they came off of was less than two weeks old. I am going to get the set of Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 2 265/75-16s that I just bought mounted onto the new wheels, and find something in the same size for a spare (also gotta check if that size tire fits under the truck).

So I am looking for opinions on the following:

• Should I put the rims as-is on the truck?
• Would they look better painted?
• If so what color?
• Should I paint them before mounting tires on them, or after?

I have seen a set of those rims Painted Charcoal grey and they look sick, just make sure u remove the emblem from the center cap first before paint. I would paint before mounting tires and let the paint cure before mounting the tires.

Just don't leave them silver, too obvious and everybody has it. Black would give you the stormtrooper look. White would give you the white-out look. Charcoal grey would look sick too.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it depends on what look you're going for.

Thanks for the replies. Plan for the moment is to paint them with Duplicolor charcoal gray; for me, the wheels have too much surface area to go with black or white. I'll let them sit a couple weeks after painting before getting the tires mounted up (it's cold here, they will cure slowly).

DO NOT PAINT BEFORE MOUNTING. The paint will most likely chip during mounting. You could ask them to be careful but not worth it. Paint after. Look down this thread for gloss black snowflakes. They look good in black.

Play with PlastiDip. Black or Bronze. Im a huge fan of bronze and would look good on white.

I have those exact same wheels on my 99. Painted them the duplicolor graphite and they came out great. Waited 2 weeks before taking them in to get balanced and the gents at the local Discount Tire decided to practice installing and removing wheel weights, chipping the paint to hell. Because i had asked them to put the weights on the inside, they agreed to fix the wheels, which meant they powdercoated them. Turned out even better.

They look awesome in my opinion, but the only thing is the offset is different from stock wheels. I put spacers on to kick the wheels out a bit more, closer to the stock look.

Will get some pictures up in a bit.

This is my daily driver, and what I use to go snowboarding. Having said that, I plan on occasionally taking it off-road. Are the Revos that bad? Or just a crappy tread pattern for mud?

Those do look good in semi-gloss black. Especially with the red brake calipers.

Very nice looking; and thanks for the heads-up about the offset being different. I will have to be careful checking fit; I am doing a 1/2 inch body lift shortly, so hopefully with that there are no issues. I guess I always thought that all the Taco/4Runner rims had the same offset, and I *really* don't want to have to run spacers.

Bronze is actually my favorite wheel color, but I am not a fan of it on a white truck with gray interior and accents. If I decide to try the black, I may do it in plasti-dip, although I don't want to have to do this more than once, at least for 3+ years, which is why I was leaning away from the 'dip.

It will last if you coat it well and use the protection coat.

Not sure about mud because I don't play in it too much, but they seem to wear fast. My dad has them on his Taco and they have the same miles as my BFG Rugged Terrains and they are more noticeable worn. They do better in the rain though than my BFG's.
