I recently put a Kenwood DNX6990 head unit in my 4runner, so far I love it...does just about everything I need only has a few quirks but I can live with that.
One thing I notice is that my rear passenger door speakers are almost COMPLETELY off unless I shift the rear bias way back...and when I do the sound fades higher and lower. Thinking theres some type of blocker that cuts bass or something causing the volume to fluctuate? Not positive...
Either way...was planning on putting some Polk DB651's in the doors now. Ive never used components before, Ive heard theyre worth the money though so now Im thinking about putting Polk components in the front door, the db651's in the back door and a db351 in the center channel just to have the ohms and sensitivity almost perfectly matching.
Anyone have any suggestions yay or nay on this idea? Not looking to go huge here, just want a good bang for the buck.
I understand I need adapters for the front for the 6x9 to fit the 6.5 and Ill also probably need tweeter mounts for the components? Is there a place in the door to put the Polk crossover? Do I need anything besides these: Amazon.com: Metra 72-8104 Speaker Connector for Select Toyota Vehicles: Electronics
to make everything plug and play? Also do I remove those crossovers when I install the new speakers?
