Car audio recommendations

Ok, need to get some ideas for upgrading the radio and speakers in my 08’ SR5. The radio works and the Aux works for the head unit, but CD player is shot. Also the front component speakers are not functioning. Rear speakers work but for how long.

Any brand recommendations for a head unit? I know speakers are usually something that you need to hear than just going with brand, and recommendations there?

Im just looking for something to play rock, classic rock, with a little 90’s rap.

At this time I’m not looking at amps, but think I got those covered. Definitely not looking at subs, even though they have made them for tight spaces and various ohm loads, that stuff doesn’t interest me much anymore.

Lots of good head units out there. Alpine & Kenwood come to mind. But whatever head unit you choose the most important is the speakers and amplifier.
I have a 6 channel Alpine amp powering X/R series Alpine speakers in all doors and hatch, no sub. I did do separates up front which was a really good decision for sound quality.

If you don't want to buy an amp you will just be underpowering any decent speakers you get.

Ok I’ll look into those. Would it be better to go double din or just get a kit and go single din?

Amps I got covered, unless I run into battery drain issues. Most of my amps I have are all A/B class and Rockford Fosgate

For speakers, any brand recommendations? I know Kicker is loud. I loved my Clairion Pro Audios, that I had to replace finally died .
