Let me throw another wrench in your toolbox, I just went through this, but ended up not buying, I looked at the same cars. The Acura WAS number one till I drove one of the competitors that I thought wasn't even in the same ballpark. There were two other cars than impressed the hell out of me when I test drove them, Jaguar, and Mercedes Benz, the Benz beat out everyone else hands down. I drove the majoritiy of them when I was back in the states, however, I drove the Benz, the BMWr, and the new 2.0FSI Audi over here. Do your self a favor and drive this badboy here, it will amaze you, it is rated at like 190 hp, but it feels like way more, its supercharged from the factory and come with sweet ass rims and tires too boot.

The c230, never in my life did I consider Benz, but there bottom of the line is sooooo freakin nice. The bad thing about the Jaguar was this, what does the Ford Focus, Volvo S-40, Mazda 3 Series, and Jaguar all have in common, they are basically the same cars, built on the same frames. Check into it, you'll be surprized.
Anyway, the reason the Benz won for me was the rear wheel drive, and the balance taht the car had. I didn't like the Torque steer of the 260 hp Acura when I got on it hard. I loved the looks though, however, let me know what you think of the Benz, everyone will think you paid like 50 for it and it is pretty cool, everyone just assocates mercedes with Money, its in the same price range as the others your looking at.
Check it out, if I was to buy right now I would probalby buy it, and then RennTech it out, it is supercharged from the factory
For the record though I was looking at the 05's.
