Help me understand why my new 06 sport’s suspension looks so raked

Seems either much lower in the front or oddly higher in the rear. I looked at the suspension and it all looks original. It does have the XREAS shocks, maybe the fronts are bad as well as the springs?

It looks a little high in the back and I'm pretty sure you can't just "replace the front" with XREAS, it's all or nothing with that system I believe.

12 yr old suspension components

will give that appearance b/c the springs sag with time.

Do you have rear air suspension? If so, the front springs sag over time but the rear stays at its ride height setting, so as the suspension wears out the rake gets bigger.

The replacement shocks come with about 10" of hose/tubing with some type of union joint on the end. It's as simple as loosening a jam nut, and separating the union joint. When I replaced my XREAS with OME, I took the components off separately.

I have exact same rake with my '08 Sport at 130k miles.

My numbers measured from center of wheel hub to bottom of fender are

FL - 19"
FR - 18 and 3/8"

RL - 22
RR - 21 and 3/4"

Parked on street so not sure if there is a bit of lean towards the right from road curvature. Will remeasure when I find some flat ground.

I agree, the back looks high. Check to see if
- someone added airbags inside the coils.
- someone replaced the rear springs with heavy duty versions
- someone put a spacer on top of the rear springs.

Did the PO do towing with it? They might have compensated for tongue weight by beefing up the rear suspension.

Worn out XREAS shocks won't cause static sagging, just bouncing and nosediving. Shocks won't change the ride height unless you get the kind with adjustable spring perches (e.g. Bilstein 5100, etc.)

You can put spacers on top of the XREAS shocks in front to lift it a bit. That's the only way to lift, and still keep your XREAS.

My 08 UrbanRunner looks like this probably because I'm at 58,000 still. XREAS is intact. It looked like this when I got it with 38,000 miles in 2014. I measured about a 2.5" rake and had wheelers send my new 6112's on the 1.3" setting. That should help level it more.

Thanks for all the replies! All looks stock under the read unless they’re beefier springs. I’m switching it out for new shocks/springs. My suspension currently has 168k miles on it but it rides and handles really well still. Curious if it’s just smooth to me bc I came from a single cab 05 Tacoma Prerunner. Hoping to keep the same smoothness with the new lift
