you get the idea. We are allowed 7 spaces here in Florida.
I went with 4Sunnr since I usually have the top off on mine. I like convertibles.
I also have a 67 Impala SS convertible

but seeing those plates makes me miss my old Cali plates that the Arapahoe Sheriff took from me when he pulled me over for having Temps from Colorado and plates from California...

Well now that you went ahead and did that even though I said I will be using it, I am not sure I'd like to use that plate. I guess it's my fault for posting. Lovely.
Back to the drawing board. I really liked that one too.

Why have a personalized plate on any vehicle that describes the vehicle? Any observant person that knows anything about vehicles can see that it's a 4Runner. Who cares what someone who doesn't know thinks? They should notice your vehicle before they notice your plates. I think your personalized plate should say something about you or what you care about instead like "4R CAMPR", "4 SKIING" or "4R HUNTR". The plates that incorporate your name make sense except that you probably shouldn't want to go broadcasting your name to every freak in California you might drive by. I also don't like the idea of using your plate to rag on some other group like "JEP RESQ" that some have suggested. So what if someone else likes jeeps? Do you really want every soccer mom driving around in a 4Runner? That would just bring the 4Runner down to the level of a :barf: honda or :barf: Dodge Caravan.

You bring up a good point. I guess in turn i can say that I like to appeal more to the Toyota crowd. I want someone else in a modded 4Runner or Tacoma to see it and know that I actually know a thing or two about the car I'm in. Also, I really do care about my 4Runner a lot, so I think a 4Runner oriented plate wouldn't be too far out of plan.
In turn, though, I am thinking I'll skip over anything with 4R in it. You mentioned "Any observant person that knows anything about vehicles can see that it's a 4Runner," but not everyone knows things like I'm running a 4cyl.
I think if I were to use the plate MY 3RZFE, it would take the looker by surprise, because even the most trained eye, without opening the hood or anything, most likely would assume it's a V6. I purposely changed everything base model so it looks like it is an SR5.
So to anyone who doesn't know what it is, who cares, but to the people who really matter, it would be kind of cool to see, i think.
I have met a few people just based on the fact that my 4Runner (much like the lot on here) is more modified than most you see on the road, it's to a point where anyone who notices the thing thinks that I am actually into Toyota's. Usually they have a modded 4runner themselves.
So for anyone to see 3rzfe on the back would want to chat about it if they understand it.

Besides having a 4Runner because you like them, what did you get yours for? What do you like to do that requires a 4x4 SUV or truck?
I have a very nice car that I say is nice to have but I need my 4Runner. My car is my second vehicle. My 4Runner is my primary vehicle. My car can't tow a trailer with dirt bikes and I can't get in or out of some of the places we camp in or ride from with my car.
I have a long uphill driveway that takes many hours to shovel when it snows. When we got 20 1/2 inches of snow in December I spent over 4 hours just getting the part in front of the garage cleared. I calculated that it would take another 10 hours to clear a wide enough path up the driveway for my girlfriend to be able to go to work Monday morning. Luckily I was saved when two of my neighbors came down the driveway with big snow blowers. I can usually go whenever I want with the 4Runner without shoveling if I want to. 24 inches of snow usually gets me high centered in the driveway but there isn't any place to go when the snow is that deep.
Don't you have similar reasons why you love your 4Runner?

I am actually able to get the plate "3RZ FE" alone, that or "MY 3RZFE". 3RZFE 4R would work but i prefer the other two over it.
I live in Southern California, my first time seeing snow was last week. My only reason for wanting it when I bought it was the cabin space and look. I didn't know anything about 4wd or lockers, never even heard of a locker before. We've had a ton of Toyotas and I wanted one.
My intention was to buy a 2nd gen 2wd 22re. I found a 99 and I liked the fact that it was newer and so I bought it. It was a very spur of the moment thing, I needed a car. My intention was to buy a W126 560SEC or 560SEL, MKIII Supra, or 2nd gen MR2, but for some reason I just bought an SUV instead.
So later, my intentions became occasional offroad fun. I like the look a lot and I love the functionality. You get so much car with a 4Runner for so little money. I can load it full of junk, transport people, offroad, modify it to make it my own, and all of the other types things I havent tried yet, like snow driving and other things. My 4Runner was a godsend when Costa Mesa flooded and I was driving through a foot of water.
It's just overall an amazing car with excellent reliability and flexibility, and so much capability. It's also very uniquely my own. I bet there's not a single 4Runner that looks exactly like mine, or anyones on here for that matter.
So really, I just bought it because I had an inner liking and found out that I really do like it. i don't know what else to say. The only thing, It's slower than a turd, but that will soon change. (planning soon: 4.10 locker diff swap from my 3.9s, shocks and tall 99 springs, catback exhaust since i already did the headers)
So since I've gone far enough to change the entire outside of the car to an SR5 model (it looks really stock, I know, but I've changed so much stuff, mind you it didnt have shit when i bought it), the biggest thing I like to surprise people with is saying it's a 3RZ.
I would do cool stuff like sn0wrunner and LINY but that's too much for me. I like the way mine is and I am content with it. I have my upcoming mods and ill be happy with them.
So since I cant fit my entire ramble about how amazing a 4runner is in a license plate, 3RZ would be good.
I don't really have much else to put. Only other thing i can think of is including a band in the plate but I'm set with the 311 sticker. It shows that i truly have a love and a care for my 4Runner.

I disagree, I think that having a license plate that refers to the car is fine in most instances. I was tired of seeing ignorant plates on cars (alot around the D.C. area... "EFF 0FF"(Porsche Cayenne Turbo) "SO ILL" (BMW 335) "NVMYS2K" (Honda S2K) "U W1SH" (Another Cayenne Turbo) etc etc etc... that have nothing to do with cars, just the ignoramuses behind the wheel... so I went with a simple "TRD 4RNR" on a 'Foxhunting' style license plate. I've got TRD parts, I actually have been fox hunting 2 times (really entertaining to be honest) and wanted to stand out from other vanity plates that are, for the most part, obnoxious.
CoB, nice choice on your plate. Were those prices just for the cost of the new plates, or did that include registration too? For custom plates in VA it's only another $10 extra per year

Agreed 100%, I couldn't have said it better.
the prices are on top of registration I believe, I haven't done it yet. I just sold my old wheels 10 minutes ago for $450 so I'll take care of my smog, plate, and reg all at once.
Here in Southern California, I work in Newport Beach and I see nothing but gaudy and obnoxious plates on Porsches and BMWs. I do not want to match that at all.

I think it's a blessing in disguise that dude took your idea. I don't really like DIRTY 4R. I don't think I have ever seen your 4Runner dirty. And don't take that the wrong way because you have a very, very clean 4Runner and I'm not one of those guys who thinks that 4Runners should be nothing other than beat to hell off road. Just from what I've seen, it doesn't really fit you. I think the 3RZ thing would be cool.
I always thought about getting LOKD RNR, as I have the locker but it kind of seems cheesy since I don't have a front locker too.
