Help needed - 3in Rough Country Lift kit

Need some advise here... Has anyone installed this lift kit on their 4th gens or heard of it? I prefer to get OME but I can't really afford it so i found this one on google from Rough Country but i've never heard of it.

Really the issue i need help confirming is whether or not this lift will be ok with a custom front plate bumper (coming soon), and if it will level out the front wake as well. It looks like it comes with rear coils and front spacers so the spacers is a concern.

Any advice is much appreciated! New to the 4th gen world btw finally starting to make some magic happen on this rig let me know!

Does your 4runner have XREAS? There's info in the suspension sticky on how to identify it. I've heard the rough country shocks are horrible, and you really need front coils to support the weight of the bumper. For those reasons, I would avoid the rough country kit.

I suggest that if money is an issue, focus on the front. Your options depend on if you have XREAS. What's your max budget?

I don't have XREAS, and if I had to pick a MAX i would say like 800... I was looking at the OME kit on Toytec which i thought would be perfect but after all of the add ons it'll end up being 1000, so i want to find something a little cheaper trying to avoid spacers if possible.

I don't think any of those will do the job either as they mostly look to be spacer kits. Stay away from the front spacer kits especially since you plan on running a bumper. New front springs and shocks that can handle the weight is what you're going to need. Sadly, $800 isn't much to work with when it comes to suspension but here's what I would do. I would go with just the front kit from Sonoran Steel (coils and 5100s) Toyota Lift Kits: Lift Kits, toyota, 4 Runner, 4th gen For the rear I would just go with FJ coils, Daystar 1.5" spacers and 5100s. It may be just a bit over depending if you can find cheap used coils but it should get you where you want and handle the weight of most bumpers.

With a budget of $800, you've got some options and can avoid any type of spacer. Here's my suggestion, can be purchased from Wheelers Off Road for $719 + shipping.

Bilstein 5100 shocks front/rear - $322
OME 885 front coils - $167
Toytec Superflex rear coils - $200
Swaybar relocate kit - $30

If you wanted to save some money, you could opt for spacers on the rear but it's not worth it IMO.

Approximately how much lift would this give you? I am looking for a lift setup and will not be adding a bumper or winch for quite a while, children are expensive!

I'm looking for a lift for my 2006 4Runner 4x4. I want between 2-3". I had recommendations of a bilstein leveling kit. What is the best lift that does not compromise the ride?
