This is what is happening. I installed my new kenwood stereo yesterday. After reconnecting all the wires and putting back the dash, i reconnect the battery. When i started the car, everything seemed fine, RPM's were normal.

When i gassed it, the car became real sluggish and unresponsive. I put it in neutral, revved it and the RPM's jumped down with a pause and then back up. When i try to rev it up slowly, it kind of bounces but just doesn't have power. Same thing happens when i put it in drive and gas. It feels like something is stopping it from going.

Any ideas what's going on???

I believe I have read that when your battery is disconnected that sometimes the ECU has to reset itself. I believe it will self correct on it's own. I am no mechanic however. Are you also sure you did not mess with the air intake and the MAF or MAS unit-air sensor?

Is there a dealership on your island you can call and ask this same type of question?

good luck and let us know what happens
