Good morning, long time lurker first time poster.
I have a 2000 Limited 2wd V6 w/165K. It is my daughters car. Yesterday I get a text saying, "Car is making a crazy sound and there is some smoke coming from under the hood!"
PERFECT! I get home and give it a look over, oil on the pass side upper and underneath. Crawl under, no windows in the block, all lines tight...I then do what my dad taught me to do: Start simple.
I start at the top of the motor, looking, wipiing things down and then realize the drivers side is CLEAN but the pass side valve cover/intake pieces are oily.
Take off the intake tube and I found this waiting for me. *sigh of relief* Just a blown out coil pack...new pack, new plug and call it a day.
***HOLD UP!***
I get back from the parts store, go to install the plug and it's just turning and turning and turning and turning. Never tightens up. Strange, but maybe the genius at Autozone gave me the wrong plug. Just for grins I attempt to put the old one back in...turn, turn, turn...nada. Like a NASCAR race, a bunch of turning with nothing to prove for it.
*The question* How do I proceed from here? I am praying the head doesn't need to come off to be "rethreaded" or worse replaced.
*HELP ME!!!*
