Help Needed With Check Engine Light Situation

Hey everybody,

Brand new to the site and owning a 4Runner. I will get around to posting more about my ride later on and the mods to come, but for right now I need some help.

A few days ago my check engine light as well as my VSC Off and VSC Trac lights came on. Now I already checked this site to see what everyone else has done already, but it appears my problem is a little different. I actually had five codes (Six at NTB) that popped up on the diagnostics check. I went to two places, NTB and O'reily, who were gracious enough to plug me in for free. They both came up with the same codes, just different meanings for both. Here is what they found:

NTB

P043F-Evap emission system leak detection reference orfice high flow
P043E-Same as above but low flow
P2401-Evap emission leak detection pump stuck off
P2402-Same thing above but stuck on
P2419-Evap emission pressure
P2419-Swing valve stuck on

O'reily

p2419 evaporative emission system switching valve control circuit low
p2402 evaporative emission system leak detection pump control circuit high
p043e catalyst temperature censor circuit low
p043f catalyst temperature censor circuit high
p2401 evaporative emission system leak detection pump control circuit low

I just bought a used 2005 SR5 4WD V8 a week ago with 120,500 miles on it. It had one owner who honestly did take good care of it, and now a week later the codes popped up on me. My father and I are both pretty good with cars, just not electrical systems.

Has anyone has this situation pop up? Same codes? Similar situation? I really don't know what all of this means. Obviously the runner is not under warrenty and I am not doing too well with money to take it to the dealership right now.

Any help on this situation would be great guys. Thank you so much. I look forward to getting to know you guys.

It's probably from a loose or bad gas cap. If it is the gas cap, the codes will clear in a few days or you can have the codes cleared.

I'm getting these same codes on my 05 V6. Only happens when I start it up on a cold morning. I can then clear the codes and be good until The next cold morning. Any ideas? What fixed yours?

Thanks.

Same problem

I have several of the same error codes.

These are my codes:
P2419 - Evaporative Emission System Switching Valve Control Circuit Low
P2402 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit High
P2401 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit Low
P0453 - Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor High Input
P043F - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Reference Orifice High low
P043E - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Reference Orifice Low Flow

So we have all the same codes except I have a P0453.. Which doesn't make any sense. How can I have high pressure if the root of the problem is supposed to be a leak?
