Help needed

I have a 2007 4wd V6 with 37000 miles on it. This morning when I started it up the check engine light and all three VSC system warning lights stayed on. Any ideas on what this might mean. Thanks

The most common fix is reseting the ECU by unplugging the battery for 30-45 minutes or doing a zero point calibration.. You should be able to find a zero point calibration writeup on here pretty easily.

your stability control systems "zero points" need to be reset, when the throttle body motor has to apply over a certain load to open the throttle body it throws a code and shuts off your stability control once you get your codes erased and zero points recailibrated you should probably take some throttle body cleaner to the butterfly valve in the throttle body you'll find it to be rather dirty just a little cleaner and an oil rag you'll be good to go. other causes can be a short circuit in the throttle body connector (condinsation, water) electric grease can help. The car should drive normal if it doesnt turn the vehicle off place it in park and restart. you should be able to drive fine no worries its a minamal problem. let me know if you need the proceedure for reseting the zero points i can post pics of the instructions or you can google a how to step my step instruction you dont need a scan tool just level floor straightend steering wheel and a jumper wire to connect certain terminals together on your obdII connector under your dash. or take it to the dealer they'll reset it for you not sure how much cost though

he said it happened after start up that tells me something happened when the vehicle opened the throttle body durring start up. I dont think a loose gas cap would cause the stability control lights to light up but i may be wrong. the zero point calibration just seems to be the most common repair for this issue, and the common cause for the issue is a dirty throttle body and or circuitry issues within the throttle body wiring harness. I'm simply guessing its just a dirty throttle body

I dont know if it would be a warranty thing or not im sure it wouldnt hurt to ask.

The vsc lights will turn on with a loose/bad gas cap. Best bet is to get the code read and go from there. I had this issue, new gas cap solved the problem (old one wouldn't stay tight).

My understanding is that zero point is only an issue if a wire gets damaged or after using certain scan tools, wouldn't expect an issue there.

good to know the gas cap will set those lights off i didnt know, when i pulled my codes and delt with my issue the TSB stated that if the throttle body had to use over 80% power to open the butterfly it would throw a code, and if there was less or more than like 5amps i believe running through it same thing would happen. My throttle body even had a recall on it for faulty circuitry don't know if anyone else has delt with that

problem solved it was a defective gas cap. Found out the VSC warning lights come on automatically when the engine light comes on and does not indicate any problem with the VSC system. Thanks to all for your response.
