help picking a 4runner

I am looking to buy my first 4runner and need help. Basically i want this as a vehicle i can drive to the snow and do some light off roading in. i also want to be able to tow my 2 motorcycles. it will not be my daily driver. I'm thinking v6 for the towing. just want it to be reliable, solid and and be somewhat nice on the inside. i am looking at years 87-95, what do you guys think.

I would say stay away from the 3.0 86-89. the 4cly is underpowered but ok as a driver. i wouldnt want to tow much with it but motorcycles should be ok. the 96 3.4 is suposed to be a huge improvement over the 3.0 pre96s. good luck

I second the 96 model with the 3.4 Litre. If it's more of a daily driver than an offroad vehicle I would go with the automatic transmission. Check for rust !!!!!! Good luck.

All good advice. I have the 3.0 and it is horribly underpowered. As a guy told me the other day (he had a 3.0 too) "You're telling me, the volkswagen busses are passing me up hills!" Ad in jewish accent from new york and you'll get the full picture.
