Yup. Horrible traffic, lousy weather, ugly women... Completely devoid of anything of value!

Skip anything south of san francisco and yosemite. Norcal is where it's at.
With only 8 days, I would slow it down and try to focus on 3 or 4 special places like tahoe, rockefeller national forest, yosemite, and highway 1 from Fort Bragg south

Yes skip anything south of frisco. It's an utter wasteland. Sort of like Texas!

there is a cool lite house just across the golden gate its free and only a mile hike it also has a cable walking bridge to get to it.
