Help please door won't lock\unlock

Ive had it with my 4runner...someone please help me that has had more water under the bridge than i do on this...Problem: right rear door does not lock\unlock i assume its the actuator i have the latch in my hands...and i want to know if i need to replace the whole latch or could i somehow get to just the actuator which is probably bout 10$ on eBay vs paying 150-200$ for the whole latch and everything which would bout kill me...

The latch assembly IS the actuator, most every vehicle has gone to this set-up in the last decade or so. It won't be $10 on Ebay, but it might be a bit less than $200.

k thx thts wat i was afraid of i watched vid on youtube on the latch part on a highlander and he was repairing little motor of some sort instead of the whole latch piece and he was buying the motor for 6bucks...

If you're really technical, you could theoretically tear the unit down, locate the motor part number (won't be available through Toyota) and hunt it down on the internet and then reinstall it. But its a bit of work and easy to do wrong since there's no instructions on how to do it, you really need a "mechanical" instinct to do that stuff. If you have it, give it a try, worst case scenario you're out $10 and need to buy the door actuator anyways.

You can get a rebuilt unit with lifetime warranty on ebay for about $120.
