Help Please! Good buy? '99 4Runner 133k miles

Hey all,
Been searching around for my first T4R and came across a '99 with 133k. Seller is asking for around $5k.
Here are the specifications that I am aware of so far.

'99 Green
-4x4
-133k Miles
-Oil Changed Regularly
-The lady who is selling the truck states its the "Sports Edition," but from my understanding that Sports Edition didn't come out till 2000? Perhaps shes referring to the Limited?
-Rack w/Kayak Attachment
-Maintenance Records from last 6 years. (Not sure what that entails)
- "Good Condition"

I haven't looked at it yet, from what I've been told it seems like a reasonable buy.
ANY thoughts on what you guys think or what I should look for.
Probably going to take a look at it sometime this weekend.

Any help is greatly greatly appreciated! I'm a newb.

Oh sorry, Its an automatic.
I'd really prefer to drive a manual, but theyre so hard to find in decent condition...

If it has the hood scoop then it's most likely the "Highlander" edition, they switched the name of the hood-scooped models to the "Sport" edition for the '00 model year. In '99 I think it was only availalbe in green and black so it's the right color to be a Highlander. If the one you're looking at has the optional rear diff lock (look for switch on left side of dash) then it's basically the holy grail of 3rd gens (only thing arguably better IMO would be the same thing but with 5 spd stick).

I recommend you study up at J.A.'s Top4runner's site to learn about all the year by year changes made during the 3rd gens run.

Good buy? '99 4Runner 133k miles

WOW, i think hands down its a good deal 4 5k. I bought a 96Limited with 68,000 and it is equipped with the lockers. it was sitting in a storage shed for 5 years with no maintenance at all. All the guy did, was change the water punp, and timing belt, and put new tires, and a battery in her and i bought it for 4500.
Its a limited so it has everything but navigation (lol) i thing its a solid buy man even with 133k

If it looks to be in good condition and it has had no major problems, then I would say to go for it! It seems like a pretty good deal to me. Also, to be on the safe side, if I were you, I would bring it to a good mechanic to be checked out, just to be on the safe side.

99 T4R SR5 Manual with E-Locker! Drives like a beast. A Little cosmetic defects here and there (dings and scratches.. nothing major) but for the most part it is in excellent condition!
